A Note to Potential Students and their Parents:
We appreciate your interest in the Three Seas Program. While there are
numerous field programs in marine biology to choose from, why should
you select this one?
Our program is targeted for upper-level undergraduate and beginning
graduate students eager to broaden their knowledge of marine science
in an intense, year-long experience that will subsequently enable them
to pursue this career track at the highest levels. This program is unique
in that no other college program offers the opportunity to learn in
three distinct locations, explore the field in such depth, and enroll
in a greater variety of marine biology courses. The progressive and
incremental structure of the Three Seas Program allows students with
only an intermediate exposure to the biological sciences to emerge from
the program ready to plan and execute marine research, whether in graduate
school, or in a career with government agencies or private consulting
firms.
The Three Seas Program recruits high-caliber faculty who direct active
research programs. They participate in our program because they enjoy
the ability to instruct motivated students at an advanced level, and
in a field setting not possible in traditional university courses. These
valuable contacts with our faculty allow our students to emerge from
the program with a clear understanding of what this career track requires
from them, with the added bonus that these interactions often result
in our students finding a graduate advisor whose research program matches
their interests.
The mark of our program’s success is measured not only by our
students’ experience while in our company, but by what they are
able to accomplish after completing the Three Seas Program. As we begin
our third decade, we have amassed an impressive group of alumni who
have succeeded in a variety of marine-related pursuits. Throughout this
brochure you’ll find testimonials from past students who have
used our program as a springboard to greater opportunities in the marine
sciences.
While we have tried to include as much pertinent information concerning
our unique program as possible in this website, you will no doubt have
additional questions as you begin the application process. With that
in mind, please do not hesitate to contact me via any of the methods
listed below, and I will be sure to get back to you. I look forward
to receiving your application!
Sincerely,
Dr.
